Leave the brief blank for a safe default, or add one line of context. One Generate action creates the first inspectable batch.

Task-specific guide

Build a readable cast, not a pile of isolated names

This page balances a given name and family name as one readable character identity. It is the parent task for genre-focused character presets and the surname matching tool.

Evidence contract

An inspectable naming method.

Versioned method

Every result displays seed, engine aurora-2.0.0, rules task-morphology-en-fictional-2.0.0, and applied tags. Safety and recognizable-name distance use safety-ip-readability-2.0.0.

Independent automated quality gates

Versioned fixtures independently inspect final strings, strict rules, semantic counterfactuals, duplicates, hostile clusters, prohibited patterns, recognizable-name distance, and task derivatives. Automated labels are never described as human blind review.

Honest boundaries

Outputs are creative fictional constructions—not verified etymology, cultural authenticity, identity validation, trademark screening, copyright clearance, or a promise of uniqueness.

Review and accountability

Reviewed by: Will Hu for product ownership, release accountability, and usability acceptance. Manus AI maintains implementation and automated evidence. An independent human naming-quality / language reviewer has not been appointed; automated labels are not human approval.

What character name generator returns

This page balances a given name and family name as one readable character identity. It is the parent task for genre-focused character presets and the surname matching tool.

Example candidateWhy it fits this taskWhat to inspect
Vaelorin SarenA complete two-part identity with contrasting word shapes.Given/family balance, pronunciation, role cue, seed.
Mireth CalderynSoft first name and firmer family ending separate the parts.Stress path and nearby cast conflicts.
Coravel ThornmereLong surname creates a deliberate formal register.Length, initials, and visual similarity.

Local generation sequence

The browser engine normalizes configuration, derives a reproducible stream from seed and version, maps a finite disclosed vocabulary of role, geography, institution, or economy attributes into task-specific roots and morphology, applies the strict contract, rejects unsafe or unreadable candidates, checks batch similarity, and adds task fields. It makes no AI API request. Unrecognized text is marked as fallback rather than falsely claimed as understood.

Standards and evidence boundary

Unicode normalization supports stable comparison; IndexedDB supplies the browser-local World Board store; and WCAG defines the keyboard requirement covered by the test suite. These standards describe platform behavior and do not endorse any generated name.

“Unicode Normalization Forms are formally defined normalizations of Unicode strings which make it possible to determine whether any two Unicode strings are equivalent to each other.”
